It was a working trip....

My visit to the Lazy Bowen Hideaway on Bowen Island's east side came the last week of March this year. Just in time to watch the 250 daffodil bulbs open up to full bloom. A bright yellow display hinting that spring was on its way.

The new out-swing Anderson double French door was expertly installed by Graham Ritchie. The vinyl exterior will take all the weather that BC can blow at it....hopefully this is the end to the water damage from the strong southeasterly storms.

A new friend of mine, Maureen, owner of the Evergreen Hall, and I took the opportunity to dine at Mik-sa Restaurant in Snug Cove. My plank grilled Steelhead trout with an assortment of fresh vegetables was seasoned to perfection and cooked just right. Of course, more than I could eat in one sitting so it made a delicious lunch the next day. Maureen ordered the pasta with Alfredo sauce....another tasty meal that was a HUGE portion and taken home in a box as well. We had a long and leisurely meal from 6 - 9. At 9ish the restaurant became more of a "bar" environment and the noise escalated...it was time to go.

Be sure to try out their fine food.......I highly recommend it. Mention that you are a guest at the Lazy Bowen Hideaway and receive a 10% discount at Mik-sa's.

Many of our guests want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city to wind down and relax from the everyday grind. So, we asked, what else can we do to help achieve their relaxation goals? Answer: provide spa amenities on site as an easy to book option.

The Lazy Bowen Hideaway has now partnered with Genevieve at Still Waters Massage for onsite massage and relaxation treatments. We have the portable massage table on property making it convenient for guests to totally relax in the comfort and privacy of the Hideaway or Petite Suite. Of course, Genevieve and I gave it a test run and she truly has magic hands and knows how to transform a tranquil space into an even calmer environment. Take a look at Genevieve's web site for Lazy Bowen Hideaway Specials. Be sure to book well in advance of your arrival for your special relaxation moment.

In addition to full body massage wouldn't a pedicure, facial, manicure or other aesthetic treatment be great too? What about having your pedicure on the seaside deck listening to the waves, entranced by the view, and breathing in the joy of nature? Melodie from Melodie's Day Spa made an onsite visit to treat me to a pedicure and excellent deep tissue foot massage....oh my......Who knew that work could be so relaxing? Again, contact Melodie well in advance of your stay so you can be schedule your aesthetic treatment in the comfort of the Hideaway or Petite Suite.
